  • Artist Statement

    McKenna’s work at St. Francis Interquest consists of abstract botanical monotype prints. These monotypes combine printmaking and painting techniques to create ethereal landscapes that remind the viewer of wildflower season in the Rocky Mountains.

  • Artist Bio

    Born in New York City, Barbara McKenna now lives and works in Lyons, CO. She moved to Colorado in 1975 after receiving her undergraduate degree from the Rhode Island School of Design. Mckenna opened her printmaking studio in 1999 where she works exclusively in monotypes. She believes that a work of art can be a symbol of healing when the viewer is receptive to its energy. Through her work, she intends to stir the senses and raise personal awareness through the beauty of divine unfolding.
