About the Project
Canticle of the Creatures
All praise be yours, My Lord
through all that you have made.
And first my lord Brother Sun, who brings the day...
How beautiful is he, how radiant in all his splendor!
Of you, Most High, he bears the likeness.
All praise be yours, my Lord, through Sister Moon and Stars;
In the heavens you have made them, bright and precious and fair.
All praise be yours, my Lord, through Brothers Wind and Air...
All praise be yours, my Lord, through Sister Water,
So useful, lowly, precious and pure.
All praise be yours, my Lord, through Brother Fire,
through whom you brighten up the night...
All praise be yours, my Lord, through Sister Earth, our mother,
Who feeds us...and produces various fruits
With colored flowers and herbs...
Praise and bless my Lord, and give him thanks,
And serve him with great humility.

Art Placement
Each floor will have art that exemplifies the verses of the Canticles and the art was chosen and placed in a specific flow to reflect the beauty and meaning so eloquently by St. Francis. You will find explanations and examples of this process as you go through the Art Tour.
The First Floor represents the clanticle as a whole.
The Second Floor represents images of “Sister Earth” - florals, bright colors, and earth images, as depicted in the yellow paragraphs in the canticle.
The Third Floor represents images of “Brothers Wind and Air, Sister Water, and Brother Fire”- blues for water and wind, flowing images for air, orange representing fire, and sky imagery, as depicted in the blue paragraphs in the canticle.
The Fourth Floor represents images of Brother Sun and Sister Moon and Stars- sky imagery and yellows and golds for the sun, as depicted in the green paragraphs of the canticle.
The Healing Value of Artwork
As the art partner for Centura Health, Noyes Art Designs passionately believes that artwork must be more than décor, it needs to contribute to healing. Studies have proven that artwork increases feelings of connectedness which is at the core of art and healing. It can help create a calm environment which reduces stress and tension, and it can also provide a distraction from a difficult or painful moment.
The design concept developed by Noyes Art Designs creates healing environments by strategically selecting and placing artwork that promotes the same harmony within a facility as that found in nature in its most balanced state. This process has been coined The Constructive Healing Cycle™ and is represented by the 5 fundamental elements of Nature – Water, Wood, Fire, Earth, and Metal. Each element has a shape, color, material, and meaning which are exemplified through the artwork. The Constructive Healing Cycle™ connects these elements in the perfect configuration to create our signature flow and healing atmosphere.
