Artist Statement
Anderson’s work on the second floor of St. Francis Interquest depicts the artist's interpretation of Brother Sun and Sister Moon and Stars of St. Francis’ Canticle of the Creatures. The sun shines radiantly emitting ethereal beauty throughout the lower portion of the painting. The moon looks like it is reaching outward like the Lord reaching out to embrace and heal.
“All praise be yours, My Lord through all that you have made.
And first my lord Brother Sun, who brings the day... How beautiful is he, how radiant in all his splendor!
Of you, Most High, he bears the likeness. All praise be yours, my Lord, through Sister Moon and Stars;
In the heavens you have made them, bright and precious and fair.” -
