  • Artist Statement

    Anderson’s work on the second floor of St. Francis Interquest depict the artist's interpretation of Sister Earth Our Mother’s section of St. Francis’ hymn. This piece praises the Sister Earth for feeding us and producing fruits, flowers and herbs. It portrays the beautiful and lush fields and mountains that are prevalent throughout our state. Along the edges of his piece, Anderson has added colorful mosaics to add dimension and texture to his painting.

    “All praise be yours, my Lord, through Sister Earth, our mother,
    Who feeds us...and produces various fruits With colored flowers and herbs...
    Praise and bless my Lord, and give him thanks,
    And serve him with great humility.”

  • Artist Bio

    Darrell Anderson aims to unite the world through art. His work is informed by years spent traveling, first while serving in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, then during his 12-year stint as Frontier Airlines first male flight attendant. Anderson has completed projects and taught workshops all over the world, from his hometown of Denver, to France, China, and more.
